Natural Justice is a sustainable seafood advisory that supports a transition to a more responsible and equitable seafood sector. Specialised in fisheries management and law, we work at the intersection of science, policy, and legislation—placing these core pillars at the centre of responsible fisheries projects, rather than relying on frameworks driven by external agendas. By leveraging our expertise in fisheries and aquaculture sustainability, we help commercial and non-commercial organisations build capacity and shape more data-informed, effective policies.

Meet the Team

Eva van Heukelom Fisheries & Legislation Expert

Eva holds two Master’s degrees in international and European law. Giving her a solid understanding of legal systems shaping fisheries globally, as well as an allergy to unnecessarily complicated language. “What do you mean?” is her favourite question, and “Less is more” her mantra. She helps fisheries stakeholders navigate the systems behind environmental and human rights violations in the sector. Finding joy in exploring even the driest legal frameworks, she supports organisations in understanding how national laws and policies create both opportunities and limitations for fisheries sustainability.
